I'm an all formats guy. Nothing beats the hard copy, but I love technology too, and really enjoy my Kindle and Audible libraries from time to time as well.
That being said, I'm going to opt for my hardcover edition of this book over a PDF or EPUB any day of the week, except in matters of pure convenience. My Flipbooks though . . . they're just different. Unlike any digital version of a book I've enjoyed before, I can actually experience this important work in a way that actually feels fresh and nostalgic at the same time. It's also really useful for research purposes, because with Flipbooks that interactivity factor that is a big plus for any digital book is next-level, allowing me to zoom in tightly on text, and view the book on the large screen of my laptop while effortlessly bookmarking my progress, and even share pages from it with friends.
These features exist to varying degrees with PDFs and EPUBs too, don't get me wrong. But it's just so much more immersive and engaging in this format.
Could be a matter of preference for some, but it's hard for me to imagine anyone that enjoys EPUB and other Kindle style formats not finding this format to be a notable upgrade.
That being said, I wouldn't go so far as to think or suggest that Flipbooks are a replacement for EPUBs.
EPUBs can be integrated into your existing Kindle libraries, and if you invest a lot of time and energy into red-pilling people and networking like I do, an EPUB may have some utility that a Flipbook edition does not because it's a format that's pretty widely known and used, whereas not everyone is familiar with a Flipbook. They should be though. As far as I'm concerned, this format is criminally under-utilized by publishers, and I wish more books were available in this capacity.
The page turning effect makes these a joy to use though. Whether clicking with my mouse on my laptop, or using my finger to literally turn the page with a swipe, it's a simple pleasure that I wasn't expecting.
The new flipbook format is much easier to read than portable document format and physical copies, even though I love my hard cover books. I was hesitant at first on getting a flipbook, but I am happy that I did. I will continue buying soft and hard cover books, but will also be purchasing them in flipbooks as they become available.
